The Kenyan edition of World Champagne Day took place at the Villa Rosa Kempinski deluxe presidential suite. The invite-only party was organised to celebrate the global event under the theme Toast to Today with an elegant and shimmering ambience that set the mood just right. Among the guests were Nairobi’s show stoppers – personalities who dressed the part and blessed the occasion. A graceful exercise was conducted to bring personal moments top of mind as the guests were asked to look back on personal moments and seal them with special red wax – This was to remind them the importance of personal moments of joy and reflection.

As the country opens up, global champagne sales are surging back to near what they were before the pandemic which hampered sales and kept people from celebrating. Since sparkling wines are affiliated to some type of celebration, it is easy to see why the industry took a hard hit. According to the General Syndicate of Champagne Winegrowers, the gradual reopening of global bubbly markets is expected to drive sales to an estimated 305 million bottles worldwide.
With our eye on the Christmas 2021 festivities, it would only mean that it is time to celebrate again.
